Hand Sewn 16th Century Corset5

Description

Close up the the boning channels and the little bow that holds the busk in place.

A Pair of bodies (corset) from the 16th century. Based loosely on Pfaltzgrafin Dorothea Sabine von Neuberg’s in Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion.

It is made up of two layers of cotton duck with the outer layer of red cotton sateen (standing in for silk, ask my cat about it). It is hand sewn with black silk thread, has self made bias tape, and hand sewn eyelets with matching cotton floss.

The pattern is my own bodice block, the boning is cable ties and the busk started out as a paint stick.

Nice Job! You don't see too many versions of those stays and these ones give you a really nice shape.
