I'm still here, I've just been sick the past week and got behind on some freelance website work as a result. Sewing has been put on hold until I get all that out of the way.

Once I have time I'll write up the sleeve drafting tutorial as promised!

I've been rather quiet since August, mainly because I've been sewing, but I also had a painting project take up my time along with RL stuff and family and all the little things that chip away at your time.

Halloween was a bust this year, I started on a costume but could not find the right materials for the over gown. So my plans to dip my toes into cosplay will be shelved until I find something that works.

I have a few other projects on the back burner and a lot of little ones but I'm trying to use Nov. as "get that costume done damnit" month. As I have a pile of unfinished things in various stages of completion and that pile really should not be almost as tall as I am.

I came across this on an Elizabethan Costume forum and had to pass it along.

www.weissgallery.com/catalogue…

A flash book of paintings from the 16th century to the 17/18th century, there is also a a pdf version that can be downloaded.

The painting photos are clear, bright and you can zoom in a bit on them, it is not to be missed.

I've been quiet

But I'm still around! I just got back from a long vacation. Fabric withdrawal was high and I missed all my sewing projects. But it did give me time to plan out what I need to finish and do some research.

One chunk of this research has been on Mockado fabric, the lesser known cousin of 16th century velvet. I've put up a short history of the fabric along with a much larger list of its use from inventories and accounts over at centuries-sewing.com/2010/09/1…
